Double-Take of the Day
I randomly decided to re-watch an episode of Milton Friedman's Free to Choose this afternoon (you can watch online via Google Videos). One of the things I like about the series is that each episode spends about 25 minutes on a film of Friedman explaining and illustrating his views on a particular aspect of economic liberty, which is immediately followed by a civilized debate of the ideas involving him and a few (or several) others.
While watching episode 2 of the 1980 series (see here) the film part was followed by a group discussion. Who do I see at the 29:20 mark? One of the members of the panel was Donald Rumsfeld. Yes, apparently that Donald Rumsfeld, during his days as President of G.D. Searle and Co. Totally bizarre.
