A Time to Mourn
Just got home from a funeral.
The sermon was excellent, reminding those of us wondering why those we love must be taken from us so soon that "For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known." Though God will not fully reveal Himself or His purposes until the last day, a hidden God is not an absent one. On that day every tongue shall confess, every knee shall bow, and all shall be made plain.
But that day is not today... Until then, we but can hope with the certainty that the last day will come, and on that day we will understand. Amen.
