I learned an important lesson yesterday while shopping for a wedding band for me: don't pay full price! We looked at several jewelery stores, and discovered that they were all out of our expected budget, and we (quite honestly) told this to the jewelers. To make a long story short, we were able to talk Rogers and Hollands ~$500 ring down to $375, plus half off the three-year "protection plan" ($20 rather than $40). I'm not sure whether this deserves a thumbs up for giving us such a deep discount, or a thumbs down because it's so marked up to start with that they can afford to give such a deep discount, but in either case, some of you may find this info helpful.
